community service
Towson Men's Club Soccer Team works directly with several non-profit groups in the Baltimore-Towson area to provide a number of community service activities for it's members. As of 2022 the Men's Club Soccer Team works with the Towson University Office of Sustainability to collect food from local dining halls on campus. The team, and other members of the Campus' Food Recovery Network then weigh the bags and deliver them to local food banks like Sarah's Hope and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Other community service activities the team participates in include tree-planting with the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, helping to restore the Gunpowder watershed which drains some 500 square miles from its starting point in lower York County, Pennsylvania, through Carroll, Baltimore and Harford counties, Maryland, before reaching the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. The team also participates in Towson Universities BIG Event, where clubs, student fraternities, sororities, and many other student organizations help the community of Towson by cleaning streets, picking up trash and helping those who are unable to take care of tasks around their homes, such as weeding and gardening. Towson Men's Soccer Club completes more than 300 hours of community service per year and is dedicated to the conservation and upkeep of the place where we study and play.
